Rumson-Fair Haven Area Home Sales, April 1 – 15, 2012

Who can resist a sale? Fair Haven’s 2012 Sidewalk Sale Days are coming up next week, and it might be worth your while to stop by ob Friday on Saturday and take a look.

As for real estate, in the first half of April Fair Haven led the way in terms of the number of local single-family home sales (closings). Maybe we’re making up for the slow start we had in the first quarter. Are there good buys out there in the local home market? Yes, there are- but there are also a lot of savvy buyers who are looking for good value for the money, and they use realtors to notify them as soon as something new comes on the market that meets their criteria.

Some people have a long list of things they’d like (in addition to a great price), like a big, updated kitchen with granite counter tops, or a great big open family room where lots of people can get together at family gatherings or at social events. Others just want a great location at a great price, because they intend to tear the existing home down and build a new house.
