Yesterday I told you about the Washington Post’s interactive graphic application which lets you input your ZIP code and see the economic statistics for your town and the communities that surround it. We looked specifically at Rumson and Fair Haven and saw their overall rankings, median family incomes and percentage of college graduates. Even though those numbers were impressive, I mentioned that a nearby town has an even higher overall ranking.
If you went to the interactive map and moved the cursor to each town’s name, you already know what town it is. If you didn’t, the answer is in the table below.
Both Little Silver and Shrewsbury are Super Zips too, and here’s how their percentile rankings appear:
Zip/Town Overall Ranking Median Family Income % College Grads
07739/Little Silver 99 $163,382 70
07702/Shrewsbury 96 $121,791 59
So there you have it- there are four (4) Super ZIPs right here on “The Peninsula”: Rumson, Fair Haven, Little Silver and Shrewsbury.
In case you want to go back and take a look, here’s the link to the map again: http://www.washingtonpost.com/sf/local/2013/11/09/washington-a-world-apart/
